How much will it cost to bring my business into QuickBooks
Would a physician prescribe you medication without an exam?
One of the first questions Iâm asked from business owners is: âHow much will it cost to set my company up on QuickBooks?â This is a good question, but itâs also a difficult one to answer. I will try to do my best here to explain why the short answer is, âit depends.â
During my time at Deloitte, many clients called to revisit an implementation that was put in place by a low-cost provider who rushed in and out as quickly as they could. Rather, our approach involves quality planning that produces quality results. Quoting a price without fully knowing the details could result in a situation where the system delivered is not the system your business actually needs.

Think of it this way. A physician wouldnât prescribe medication without a full examination of your history, goals, and environment. Washington Advisory approaches each business in the same comprehensive manner.
So what do you base your decisions on?
If your data isnât coming into the system correctly, decisions you make become guesstimates based on hunches rather than facts. In the best-case scenario, guesstimates can lead to inefficiencies which lead to lost time and opportunities. In the worst-case scenario, guesstimates can cumulatively lead to increased IRS attention, audits, and the snowball effect of penalties, liens, and levies.
So where do you get your information from? Is it actionable? Is it timely and relevant? Does it help you quantify the complete cost of a new hire or explain in detail how your business compares to its peers? With Washington Advisory, youâre assured that the business system we recommend and implement creates an ecosystem similar to the human body. The system we deliver is one where your accounting, inventory, customer relationship management, budget, and forecasting systems all work together in harmony.
So what are the variables that determine the overall cost of system setup? Some are company-specific, like the number of employees you have on payroll, the number of locations you manage, and your product or service suite. Others are contingent upon the amount of involvement youâd like from us and the complexity of add-ons you need to meet your long-term business goals. This means items like advanced integration with other in-house applications or on-site system training to make sure your employees are able to use their new system most efficiently.
